About the band:
Founded in the summer of 2008, SYSTEM DIVIDE quickly became a transnational project. The band set out to revolutionize the conventions of the over-saturated melodic death metal genre, proving that extreme metal can have more depth than blast beats, while female vocals do not have to conform to the precepts of the “Goth” genre. In mixing many styles, The Collapse, the band’s debut EP, breaks all the rules of extreme metal and is a landmark release for the new band.
As opposed to interjecting simple, predictable clean choruses into contrived song structures, SYSTEM DIVIDE unites serene female vocals and extreme vocals driven by lyrical themes that confront and seek to break everyday themes of disillusionment, societal materialism, and individual apathy. Musically, the band delivers myriad styles of riffing and grooves, while augmenting the entrancing soundscapes with hard-hitting drums and intricate bass lines. These elements together define the unique, spell binding, hypnotic sound of SYSTEM DIVIDE.
In order to achieve this complex calculus of sounds on The Collapse, Cole Martinez handled tracking duties at Conquistador Recordings. Mixing and mastering duties were handled by Jacob Hansen (Aborted, HateSphere, Volbeat) at Hansen Studios in Denmark in April and May 2009. Artwork for The Collapse was completed by Colin Marks (Strapping Young Lad, Aborted, Nevermore). The result is a sonic and visual masterpiece that metal has eagerly been waiting for.
The band recruited Michael Wilson (ex-Abigail Williams) as a second guitarist after the release of The Collapse EP and continued writing material for its first full length, The Conscious Sedation, which will be available online and in stores everywhere September 14, 2010. Following the philosophy of ‘if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it,’ the band once again recorded with producer/engineer Cole Martinez. Mixing and mastering for The Conscious Sedation was handled by the infamous James Murphy (Aborted, SWWAATS, Lazarus AD, Sigh, Arsis).

THE ARTERY FOUNDATION AND STAPLE MGMT ANNOUNCE JOINT VENTURE TO MANAGE AUSTRALIA’S THE AMITY AFFLICTION

The Artery Foundation has entered into a joint venture with Australian management company Staple MGMT to manage The Amity Affliction in all territories outside of Australia.
The Amity Affliction has used a hard working touring ethic to become one of the biggest independent bands in Australia. The band’s recently released album “Youngbloods” debuted #6 on the Australian charts, shocking the mainstream Australian media and solidifying the band as unlikely magazine cover stars. The quintet’s outspoken nature and outstandingly positive lyrics have earned praise from fans and industry alike, and their music has struck a chord with an audience attracted to their ear for melody and creative approach to heavy songwriting.
But it’s in the live arena that The Amity Affliction have truly earned their respect. The band just finished part 1 of their extensive Australian album tour, selling out every show with numbers up to 2200 capacity and one of the most intense live shows gracing stages down under. Part 2 will see the band reach the smaller country towns around Australia where ticket sales indicate they will have much the same response.
“Youngbloods” was recorded by US Producer Machine in New Jersey at the start of 2010, and is the band’s second album. It is a diverse and polished record which has set a new standard in what heavy hardcore-influenced music can sound like. It is set for release worldwide later in 2010, as the band gear up to take on the UK at the end of 2010 as support to Asking Alexandria, and set their sights on the rest of the world as 2011 rolls around.
Sacramento, CA based management company The Artery Foundation has established itself as a force in the music business, with an impressive roster that includes such successful indie acts as Attack Attack!, Breathe Carolina, Emarosa, Dance Gavin Dance and more.
